AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN KULA RIDGE

If you are interested in signing up for affordable housing in the proposed Kula Ridge project, please review the information below.  If you meet the affordable income requirement and the criteria outlined below, please complete the on-line Information Form For Potential Buyers.

The affordable income requirement is set by the standards of the County of Maui and the State of Hawaii.  It is based on a percentage of the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) median income for the County of Maui.  The County has a guideline for the pricing based on different interest rates on their website www.mauicounty.gov/index.asp?nid=251.  As of February 13, 2008, the County of Maui HUD median income is $72,800.  These values will change as the County’s median income level and the interest rates vary.

Qualified applicants must also meet the following criteria established by the County of Maui:

  • A resident of Hawaii
  • At least 18 years of age
  • You must live in the home
  • You cannot own a home or real property
  • You must meet the affordable home requirement
  • Other restrictions may apply

The first step in the process is to become pre-qualified by a lender to confirm that you are eligible for the mortgage.
